Terms and Conditions
Eyecare is one part of Synaptiq. Synaptiq is a limited company registered in England and Wales. Registered number 07703527. Registered office: Prince Albert House, 20 King Street, Maidenhead, SL6 1DT, UK.
Synaptiq Ltd T/A Eyecare is a UK registered company and complies with UK consumer law. The following Terms and Conditions do not affect your statutory rights.
We offer a satisfaction guarantee on all On Demand Learning Subscriptions and credit purchases. If, for any reason, you are not entirely satisfied with the first piece of on demand learning you complete as part of your subscription or credit purchase, you can contact us within 28 days and receive a full refund. You will not be entitled to receive any CET points for any on demand learningthat has already been completed. Any CET points already awarded for completed on demand learning will be removed, with the exception of your first complementary piece of on demand learning.
Cancellation notices should be made in writing by post, fax or email. Their effective date will be the date that the notice is received by Eyecare.
Annual On Demand Learning Subscriptions

Monthly On Demand Learning Subscriptions
For those who are on a rolling On Demand Learning Subscription and payments are being collected by direct debit, we will cease collections immediately. Your subscription will be deemed to have ended at the time of cancellation request or notification of direct debit cancellation. You will not be entitled to collect CET points through our on demand learning after that date.
Delegate places can be cancelled any time up to and including 28 days before the date of the conference and a full refund will be provided. No refunds will be given for cancellations after that date. Substitutions can be made up to and including 7 days before the event - simply give us the details of a colleague who wishes to take your place. In the unlikely event that a conference has to be cancelled by us you will be offered the choice of a full refund or a place at a similar conference.
Some promotional prices are non refundable. This will be clearly indicated on the offer whenever this is the case.
Peer Review Packs
Cancellations for products not already dispatched will qualify for a full refund less £15 admin fee for cancellation of CET session if already assigned. Products returned within 7 days of despatch will receive a full refund minus the cost of packaging and postage and a £15 admin fee for cancellation of CET session if already assigned. All items must be returned in same condition as they were supplied to you. You will be responsible for packing, postal and any other charges associated with their safe return. You will not be entitled to receive any CET points for any orders that are returned. Refunds will not be given for products not returned within 7 days unless they are faulty.
Refunds will normally be credited to your credit/debit card account within 3-5 working days. Where this is not possible we will send you a a BACS transfer within 30 days.
CET points will be awarded to GOC registered Optometrists, Therapeutic Optometrists, Dispensing Opticians and Contact Lens Opticians within 10 days of completion providing that they have paid for and are entitled to receive the CET content they have completed. Specifically, CET points will not be awarded to individuals who attended a conference but still have an outstanding balance to pay or to individuals who complete on demand learning to which they are not currently subscribed to.
Postage and Delivery
Generally all purchases from our website include postal costs if applicable. Where this is not the case, additional costs will be clearly specified. We will send any products ordered via our preferred courier service.
UK prices shown in GBP include VAT (Value Added Tax)* at the standard UK rate. VAT does not apply to orders that are to be shipped outside the UK. While we do our best to ensure prices are up to date and correct, errors may occur and in this case you will be contacted before your order completed.
If you select a currency or a delivery country outside the UK, prices will be displayed VAT free, and in some cases in local currency. Regional pricing is not always available on all orders. Where regional pricing is not available, we will still deliver overseas but the price paid will be in GBP including VAT.
Eyecare accepts most major credit cards for online orders (except AMEX). You will be asked to enter your card details and the name and the address of the cardholder when you place the order. These details will be checked and we may hold an order until we receive the correct details. You will be contacted if we find the card or address details to be incorrect. We will bill your card when your order is is confirmed. For postal, faxed or telephone orders, Eyecare accepts Personal Cheques in GBP or Euros and Bank Transfers in GBP or Euros. We recommend that you do not send cash through the post.
Credit Card Security
We take online security extremely seriously and have taken steps to ensure that your payment information is processed confidentially and accurately. Our secure servers protect information by Secure Sockets Layer (SSL), the industry standard encryption technology. SSL works with Firefox, Microsoft Internet Explorer, AOL and other browsers. This encryption makes it virtually impossible for unauthorised parties to read any information that you send us. After your order is processed your encrypted credit card number is deleted. This means that there is no way that someone can obtain your credit card number from Eyecare.
Surveys and Prize Draws
Surveys are operated by Eyecare. All survey responses are confidential and all information given is studied in an aggregated form only. No personal or contact details are passed on to any third party.
Surveys are normally open to all GOC registered optical practitioners.Any additional qualifying requirements will be made clear in the invitation and/or in the first few questions of the survey. Only those meeting the qualifying requirements will be allowed to complete the survey. The survey will close automatically as soon as the response quota or closing date is reached.
Where a prize draw is offered, only those qualifying for and completing the survey will be entered. Prizes are limited to one per person. Fraudulent or multiple entries will be disqualified. Winners will be chosen at random from qualifying entries and will be notified by email on or before the date in the footer of the invitation email. Winners have 28 days from receipt of the winners' email to claim their prize. Prizes will be paid by UK bank transfer in Pounds Sterling (GBP), voucher or gift card depending on the prize offered within the invitation email. No cash or other alternative will be offered. The decision of Eyecare is final and no correspondence will be entered into. Employees of Eyecare and their immediate families can not be entered into the prize draw but may complete the survey if eligible to do so.
We make every effort to ensure that details about our products and services and any other information on our website or other promotional material are up to date. However, where information is incorrect or is subject to change, we reserve the right to withdraw or substitute the offer and to cancel any outstanding orders or bookings.
If we decide to change our Terms and Conditions, we will post those changes on this page.
Eyecare disclaims damages of any kind, compensatory, direct, indirect or consequential damages, loss of data, income or profit, loss of or damage to property and claims of third parties implied or otherwise relating to use of this site.
