Daily disposables - Ingredients for Success

This lecture was filmed live at Eyecare3000 in Glasgow, January 2011.

Daily disposable contact lenses are popular due to their low maintenance, low deposition and relatively low risk of infection. Wearers of daily disposable lenses show significant reduction in signs and symptoms of contact lens allergy. Significant advances have been made in daily disposable technology over the last few years. These include changes in lens materials and packaging solutions, solutions embedded in the lens matrix and sustained release of tear enhancers from the lens matrix. This presentation will highlight the clinical effects of these enhancements and their potential to reduce end of day dryness.
