The Home Office Hangover What has lockdown done to our eyes?

As the COVID -19 lockdown restrictions continue to ease, clinicians are reporting an increase in the signs and symptoms of dry eye. Working from home has become the new normal for many and the increased use of digital media for communication is taking its toll on the tear film.

This presentation will consider the increase in symptoms of dry eye and blepharitis that clinicians are hearing since the start of the lockdown and discuss the possible reasons. It will consider the link between blepharitis and dry eye and encourage practitioners to proactively question patients for symptoms in addition to looking for signs. It will include a review of currently available management options, including new novel formulations so that we can continue to offer the best advice and recommendations to patients in order to effectively manage blepharitis and dry eye.
