This lecture will consider the changing prevalence of eye disease and what that could mean to the patient base in optometric practices in future. Practitioners will be reminded of the principals of prescribing magnification, including high add spectacles and the most commonly prescribed simple low vision devices. The type of advice and information that any optometrist/optician can provide for their patients with sight loss will be discussed as well as making the most of the latest technology available in most households.
